    FA cup replays

It will be interesting (if anybody still cares) to see what power this “independent” regulator is given. Who appoints him or her or it? If he, she or it does the job properly and upsets the top PL clubs, how long before they are sacked? (Sorry. I meant “resigned to pursue other interests”).

    Cycling 2024

Now Simon Carr wins stage 4 of the Tour of the Alps. I remember back in the day when we never won any major race from one year to the next - and when there were no British riders at all in the Tour de France. Long may the present trend continue.

Disgraceful! They have ripped the emotional heart out of what once was the “jewel in the crown”. All in the relentless and soulless pursuit of mammon. May they rot………….

Great win for Stevie Williams in the Fleche Wallone yesterday. Very hard course, atrocious weather and freezing cold temperatures. I’ve never seen so many highly trained athletes in their mid-twenties, looking like 50 to 60 year olds after getting to the finish. So, two British winners in the...

    BLADES away to the Bees

Just seen the Line-up. No Jack - just when you really need him. I fear another (very) heavy defeat against a team I thought we might get something from. Ah well, I suppose we have come used to it by now. UTB

    BLADES 2 points deduction

This means that (probably) the S6 Tuna murderers will be above us in the league (for one week at least). Will we ever hear the end of it? o_O

    Everton have 10 points docked.

Another Everton points deduction. What a joke - though hardly a surprise! If only we had an owner rich enough for us to cheat like that. Absolutely no sanction at all. A farce!

The big difference appears to be that Vingegaard’s injuries all appear to be to his top half. Froome and Bernal both had pelvic damage and broken femurs. Despite his age, I can see Vingegaard possibly coming back to something like. Roglic and Remco should be ok. First time I’ve seen the 3...

BLADES v Whingein Scousers at Anfield

Yes, I feel ok at Rod, thanks for asking. Both Haemo and Hepto blood tests on Monday, so may know more then, but certainly feel reasonably well at the mo. Still getting to the home games and the occasional non-league game. Same result last night as the first time I watched United at Anfield...

BLADES v Whingein Scousers at Anfield

We were 30-1 for last nights game. That’s the highest I’ve ever seen a team in a league game - and I wasn’t even tempted. However, the good news is, we are about to annihilate Chelsea on Sunday. Now, where did I leave the rest of the whisky?🤑

I can equate to that. Running my first one, I wondered why there seemed to be a large group of blokes all bunching up. When I got to the front of them, I found out why. Nobody wanted to overtake such a vision of loveliness. Sadly, she was only doing the half so turned off at about the 12 mile...

    On this day

Me too. Had to endure that awful LL stand, got absolutely soaked and had a “reight good neet”.

    New training ground

I’ve played rugby on Castle Dyke (1956-58). I’ve also played football (or attempted to) - not easy when a gale was raging. I’ve also played on the HSBC pitches - nothing like Castle Dyke. That 2 miles or so could take you into another world.

What about Bettis? Any chance he could be next?

    Superb Times article.

Yes, those of us who still bought a season ticket and went to all the matches we could - home and away - when we were languishing in the 4th division - take pride in the fact that “we were there”. Somewhat bizarrely, although the season before is best forgotten, we all remember that season in...

    Superb Times article.

I think you are being very harsh TT. Of course we all knew the facts (more or less) but this piece isn’t for us, but for the rest of the football world who are having a great laugh at our expense. I think it makes a pleasant change to see a sports journalist finding out the facts first and then...

    RIP

Lewis Jones, rugby legend at the age of 92. I had the privilege of watching Lewis when he played RL for Leeds. (I was at Leeds University). It was towards the end of his career, but it was still a joy to watch that magical side-step. A true great. R.I.P.

    Enjoy your weekend

Watching Eurosport’s coverage of Strade Bianche. Flinging it down with rain, so very tricky descending. Pity about the weather as the scenery and the climb up to the Siena finish is very attractive. Pojacar has just attacked with over 80 kms to go!!!!! The sun has now come out. Strange place...
