How much responsibility should our DOF

I think this summer will tell us whether they will put their money where there mouth is (automatic promotion has been the stated aim). They did it in the January when they first arrived, but then we were told they were extenuating circumstances and it was soley to ensure we didn’t drop out of...

The academy needs to produce more......

That’s true, probably partly down to the absence of an U21 team or B team until the past season. There’s too big a gap between U18 football and men’s first team football.

How much responsibility should our DOF

I believe Kenny was invited to a Watford game shortly before Hurtado signed. May have been their cup match that he came on in. As for JCH, I can’t see that he was ever a realistic signing, he’s turned down contract extension offers at Peterborough as he knows this summer he can get a nice big...

The academy needs to produce more......

The U18s have done well in the FA Youth Cup this season, getting to the 4th round before eventually losing to Sunderland, who have a top Category One rated academy I believe.

It's all to play for v Doncaster

Matches finished now. Looks like Donnie & Crewe are favourites for the playoffs and it’s probably between Barrow, Crawley and Bradford for the other place. We are around 3 points and a lot of goals too far behind.

How much responsibility should our DOF

These are key points for me, there’s one guy on Twitter who keeps going on about sacking the whole recruitment department at the club, based on us not signing one or more free scoring strikers. But we don’t know whether the Galinson’s said to Kenny and Hess in January that we need to cut the...

It's all to play for v Doncaster

Seems a bit crazy to me that there’s still 4 teams with games in hand this late in the season. You’d think they would want to keep the last week free so all teams have a level playing field knowing where they stand. Also would have been tricky for the likes of ourselves working out the...

Doncaster have now sold out of tickets and been told they won’t be given any more.

That reminds me of what a sickener that Colchester match was, we brought a couple of extra people who only go to the odd game, all hoping for a good home win after our amazing start to the season, and it was a shocker. I think Chris Who’s comments about the effect of the Bonne car crash just...

Gills Vital 2023/2024 Prediction League - Match 52: Gillingham Vs Doncaster Rovers

Feck it, had a shocker with my predictions this season so:- Gills 4-3 Donnie (Andrews, Mahoney, Masterson, Dieng - Adelakun hattrick). ((Expect it to be 0-0 now))

    Come on Coventry!

Cov had some luck too. First goal was a shinner, 2nd the flukiest deflection, and 3rd a dodgy pen in injury time! Yes United had a big let off with the disallowed goal at the end, but if it’s deemed offside then it has to be ruled out. Can only see a Man City comfortable win in the final anyway.

Yes that’s a very good point about Andrews, Clemence said after the game he had to sub him off due to a knock he picked up. Hawkins is far less mobile, and seems out of form lately, I actually thought he played better when he first came back into the team after his long injury layoff. Another...

No one really knows the length of the players’ contracts now as the club has a policy of not announcing it when they sign. Max Ehmer told fans at the player of the year night that he has another year left, when many thought he’d be out of contract this summer. Yes Alexander mutually agreed to...

Yes Clemence confirmed post match that Jeffries and Williams could not play 90 mins, and that one or two others picked up knocks so had to come off. For Jeffries it’s understandable as he’s returning from months out of the squad, for Williams though it’s been a problem all season, I’m not sure...

Where did it all go wrong ?

I think we’d have made the playoffs under Harris, he’s back to getting 1-0 wins with Millwall (another one away at Sunderland today), it’s not pretty to watch but he knows how to structure and organise the defensive unit. The squad was never built to score loads of goals, when we open up to try...

Doubt it, don’t think he has scored a single goal for Stevenage since going there.
