    Retirement n/g

Oh my goodness - people get paid a fortune to write self-help books that are nowhere near as good as this outlook on life. Something I find helpful in retirement - buy a simple blood pressure monitor and check every three months or so. Blood pressure is a really useful guide to general health...

    Retirement n/g

I remember reading an article about the long term benefits of fast walking. For most people it's a simple, achievable, highly effective way to keep fit. Sounds too good to be true? Apparently not.

    Wet shave blades, n/g

For years I lived near a Waitrose store and it became my local for everything, apart from essentials in Savers. I now live near an Aldi - it is the only supermarket I visit and I feel I am winning at life! I totally recommend the Aldi 5-blade at a fraction of the cost of the big brands.

It's brilliant! To save you reading all 24 pages (so far): they hate Bonne and should've kept Lapslie.

The Official Salford City Match Thread (Sponsored by Priestfield Managerial Debuts "for all your renewed hope needs")

Max Clark had an interesting performance yesterday. Quite a few mistakes - that I am sure were down to not playing regularly and the added pressure of being 'second choice'. However, overall, I though he had an excellent game. Some real skill and willingness to make things happen.

    Close the Rainham End

It's a situation that, quite rightly, makes most of us angry and causes passions to run high. I do think though, this forum is the most reasonable and balanced of all the different outlets where Gills opinions are expressed (and that includes real life).

So who do you want as new boss?

Being a football manager is a very thankless job (salary aside). Most are available because they have been sacked and have fans howling about all the mistakes they made. In a normal career progression you move on to different companies with a perfect CV and excellent references. Smoke and...

    Gills v Wrexham

Spoiler Alert. After that game Gills had scored eight goals in eleven games. Things I had forgotten from watching football in 1978: The number of people going to a match wearing a tie. Toilet rolls used as streamers. Managers being interviewed side by side after the game. The mud.

A quarter of the season gone... how have the players fared?

As far as I'm concerned that's an excellent assessment.

was it right to sack neil harris?

Rather a disparaging article in the Sunday Times from Martin Samuel, about the decision to sack NH. Annoying when people who know nothing about the Gills act like the old fashioned pub bore.

So who do you want as new boss?

As has been mentioned elsewhere - interesting discussion on the Crawley Town Forum about the Scott Lindsey speculation. I can see why they are a bit fed up with it!
