Damaged his MCL in October and had surgery to rectify, and although his deal has been mutually terminated he is staying with Ipswich for another month to complete his rehab. Another crock isn't really what we're after, and McGrandles is here anyway as midfield backup.

Matty Virtue is 26 and out of contract in the summer after Blackpool triggered his extension at th end of last season. Plenty of "experience" and one we were very interested in signing permanently before. Not played too much for them this season but would be a strong addition and add competition...

Is he not out of contract in the summer? Not sure he's really done enough to warrant a new deal, or if he'd even want to stay? His body language doesn't strike me as someone who's overly happy.

Reading some of the replies on here, it sounds as much of a gamble for him: flaky fanbase that leave when the going gets tough (is 9th in L1 really worthy of walking away from?) fans not keen on giving him a chance before he's even started. Good luck Michael! UTI
