    The Cricket Season 2016 Thread

Given Middlesex's first innings score and the fact the Bears were 31-2, I think they can be very happy with a draw.

Europe In Out Shake it all about

Genius from "Project Fear" which was actually reported as fact on the French news last night - we'll have to have a visa to travel to Europe because the UK will insist everyone from Europe will have to have one to come over here. And what's more, Eurostar, because they're run by the French, will...

    The Cricket Season 2016 Thread

Middlesex currently 449-9 against the Bears! :10: Need a couple of big scores once we get in to salvage anything here I fear. Time for Sir Ian of Bell and Sir Jonathan of Trott to step up to the crease, quite literally!

For about a month I've had this stuck in my head. I have no idea why, although it is a great tune! [youtube=b31L4P7G5j8]

Europe In Out Shake it all about

Interesting line from that article: More than 100 Premier League players would be affected with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Watford facing losing 11 players from their squads I'm definitely voting out then! :3: Maybe the 11 that get kicked out can take the rest with them.

    Boris Johnson

Reminiscing at the weekend about TV shows some of used to watch as students and Celebrity Death Match came up. Someone pitched the idea of BoJo vs Donald Trump... battle of the hair! I'm with Gator in thinking he's one of the few politicians who says what he means, Trump is the same. Sure...

The Albums That Never Leave You?

Agree JF, Bluetones were one of the most underrated bands of the 90s, likewise The Frank & Walters. I would recommend getting a copy of KLF, but as they deleted their entire back catalogue they're like gold dust!

Europe In Out Shake it all about

I see where you're coming from Wurzel & 57, but one big issue is that the majority of infrastructure in the UK is owned by foreign companies, many French & German, I'm thinking of EDF, e.on, npower, Arriva, Govia Thameslink, Areva... They already charge UK customers more than those in their home...

Europe In Out Shake it all about

Have to say that while I'm leaning heavily towards out, I'm not totally decided as I want to get as much information on it as I can before making my mind up. Is the EU a bloated, pointless, boys club where the power rests with a few, un-elected twats? Yes Are the 28 countries all simply looking...

The Albums That Never Leave You?

In no particular order these are the 12 that probably have had the biggest impact for various reasons on my life to date: KLF - The White Room The Bluetones - Expecting to Fly Nirvana - Nevermind Pearl Jam - Ten Transvision Vamp - Velveteen (Wendy James yes please!) The Verve - Urban Hymns...

    Do you trust the Police?

Power corrupts - that is true of any occupation, whether it's the police or in an office or on TV ("Sir" Jimmy...). Unfortunately, with the police the bad seeds tend to make more of an impression on the public conscience. On the whole though, I think the police force are trustworthy, especially...

Got to be men - we have the most practise, e.g. "Of course your bum doesn't look big in that dress/ skirt/ pair of trousers" :40:

What was the last film you watched

Christmas with the nieces and nephews gave me an excuse to catch up on some of the animated films I've missed recently and I have to say that Tangled is the funniest thing that Disney have done since Aladdin. There are some genuinely laugh out loud moments in it, superb film.
