Bailey is the real deal...like Joe Greashish he'll end up at a top UCL level team.... although that could be us 🤞

Agreed. Both upfront is lethal, if they can work together....Ollie is unselfish enough to supply Ings too....just the other 8 players we need suss.

Agree with that, its the minimum you'd hope for! Just worrying that a striker who has scored the most goals in the Premier league over the last few seasons outside of Kane and Salah is dropping deep, in the no.10 or chasing channels - we need to supply him, hopefully we can!

My biggest concern, especially with him doing two roles (kinda), and I could be completely wrong here...Is how fit is Danny Ings? Does he have decent running numbers? Every time I've watched him play, he's ended up chasing the channels and has looked absolutely knackered.

Joe Grealish scores a curl bender for the Oil Slickers of Manchester. The Etihad goes mild.

Is this a flat 4 - 3 - 3? I can never settle on whether we need natural width with actual wingers, or the CM drops deep to cover and we just use the full backs. I'm starting to think DS didn't really think about his signings... It would make more sense if the players he bought all weren't...

Haha true. But Richarlison looks lost upfront. Without their main man, we might revert back to 4 at the back. Hmmm.

Probably back Saturday, but Calvert-Lewin currently injured.

No lesser as in shite...but clearly (at least you'd hope) easier game than away at Chelsea against Lukaku and co.

Yes I think our record against them, and the the performance Saturday, plus having a very good looking bench is giving me a worrying amount of optimism. They dont have a £100m striker and I think Villa park evenings are something that brings the best out of us.

I appreciate it's a bit early, but wanted to know everyone's thoughts on the selection headache for Dean Smith. We're at home against 'lesser' opposition - which begs the question, will we stick with a back 5? And how do Bailey and Buendia intergrate? Can we push Ollie out wide? Is Ramsey now...

I do agree that some players are now too afraid to just punt it up the pitch, although in that situation I think the decision wasn't too bad, it was the execution. Very poor pass. But I do think that's come about from him being too indecisive. With Mings quite often you see his best games when...

There was definitely criticism on here of being ineffective and likely not up to the standard... Time will tell, but playing well against Chelsea is definitely a good marker.

Goes to show we'll write players off..when actually, it's the system that can often make them look crap. That busy and compact modifield 3 suited him very well.

Watkins does things himself, well...but can't finish. Ings needs a through ball....but we couldn't provide that. Oh well...no melt down. It was Chelsea and we played well mostly. Cut out the bullshit and we'll be fine. Onwards and upwards

The 3rd tainted what was a good game. Never a 3 nil game. Referee a total f*** bottle job. If you can't be impartial, then do one you spineless knob. We will beat many teams if we play like that. I thought that was tactically very good... which doesn't bode well for Bert, Bailey and Buendia.
