On This Day In 2016 - Sean Raggett Signed

Sean scoring the winning goal at FGR was also a major turning point in that season and a game well worth watching again.

    McGrandles signs

We are always optimistic when a new player signs and this is another example of the current recruitment plan. Conor McGrandles is a young player with plenty of playing experience and the prospect of many good years ahead of him. It is pleasing to see players stating that the opportunity to play...

    Cowleys sacked

Huddersfield are a club in declined and I am relieved that I will have no reason to follow their results in the future. I will keep an eye on what the Cowleys do next, out of respect for the wonderful job that they did for us. But it is of far, far more interest to me to see how Michael Appleton...

Sincil Bank (West Bank) Terrace & Railway End Terrace 17/02/1990 - Memories

I received in the post this week one of my old Season Ticket books from 1970, cost 5 pounds 10 shillings. It was found by a family member inside a copy of a Football Focus magazine and had been untouched for 50 years. I used to stand on the halfway line, with friends, on the Sincil Bank Terrace...

    Current Squad: June 2020

Forgive my typo, it should have read gave rather than have, which I have now edited. I was fortunate to be seated behind the goal when Allsop made his remarkable save in the 1st half at Wembley against Shrewsbury.

We gave him the experience of playing at Wembley before, which may help settle the nerves.

Imps Announce First Summer Signing - James Jones

This appears to be a promising start to the rebuilding of the team. A young player with plenty of appearances and experience behind him. Welcome to Sincil Bank James.

    Imps retained list announced

Tough times have brought about these decisions so that our club survives into the future. Its very sad to see Michael Bostwick and Neal Eardley end their playing days with us in this manner, both of them entitled to be included on the list of best ever players for the Imps. We are fortunate to...

What's the highest-scoring match you have watched live?

8-1 City beat Luton, Billy Cobb scored 3 on debut. Shock result as City were not playing well that season.

    Roy Chapman

Billy Cobb did indeed score a hat-trick in this game, including an overhead kick, the first goal of this type scored by anyone at Sincil Bank.

    Sports/hobby shops

I remember a hobby shop on Clasketgate, a couple of doors down from the Theatre Royal. I used to get Airfix models from them, throw away the instructions and try to figure out how it all went together. Clearly plenty of time on my hands as a child. Does anyone remember the name of this shop?
