    v West Ham

Another defensive masterclass from the skipper. Some boy.

Pretty decent results for the squad then. Me I thought Cabaye and Tiote at their best complimented each other rather well. The whole was more than the sum of the parts. Cisse had a mad half season too, everything he touched turned to gold.

    Who's ready to admit

For what it's worth I said it at the time although few agreed. My view was that Pardew was handling a great set of footballers badly.

    Who's ready to admit

I think Pardew got lucky with a cracking first 11 mate. A top manager would have been challenging for the title with that squad. Cabaye and Tiote in the middle for example. World class. Great players right through the side for that season.

I would worry more about the dodgy PL officials, and of course that fat bastard, than anything the Saudi contingent throw into the mix.

    Who's ready to admit

Me I think Rafa would have vetoed the signing of St Maximum given his reported "history". He would have found us another gem like Murphy instead who will be a good boy and do as he is told. Go out on loan for example.

    Who's ready to admit

I think he has done well with the players at his disposal and far better than Rafa would have. I can't imagine Rafa would have let St Maximum and Almiron off the leash to play so far forward for example. But I don't think he is the right man to take us forward if the takeover goes ahead.

    v Bournemouth

Bournemouth are awful. Remember when Eddie Howe was lauded as a great young manager? I think he has stayed a season or two too long. Good effort by our lads to put them to the sword 'though. Very entertaining.

I just read it took 8 months for the Southampton takeover to be completed in 2017.

    FA Cup Qtr Final

Ah yes, another great contribution to the debate. Even edited the post to get it just right. Nice.

    FA Cup Qtr Final

The issue here is we don't have a player on the books who would get in the Man City reserves squad. Therefore unless they have an "off day" the result is inevitable. Bruce set it up to avoid embarrassment and the unlikely chance of a freak result.

    FA Cup Qtr Final

What do we think, anyone fancy it? Looking at the quarter final draw mind it's amazing isn't it? 4 of the "glamour clubs" left in the competition, Man C, ManU, Chelsea and Arsenal and they all drew apart. Imagine that.

So another week drifts by. The PL are taking the piss here.

Didn't we concede a goal? But you are right he is an Ashley bargain basement job.

Just being a poor footballer for me.

    Aston Vile

Leon Best would walk into this side. No-one defending Lascelles today? As for our world class goalkeeper...................another 2 points hoyed in. Don't accept the crumbs Ashley leaves on the table.

    Sheff U game

Yes I thought Hayden had a good game.

    Sheff U game

Anybody watch it? Just sat through it this afternoon. Sheffield were like a pub team. Our lads generally looked pretty decent against said walking pace pub team (as they should) with the exception of Lascelles, who played exactly as he always does. Repeatedly out of position and trying to...

I hate to say it but I don't see any way they could throw it out now. It would be lunacy from the PL to turn away investors like that.
