Any of you good fellows do any metal detecting? If so, what metal detector do you use? Found any gold? Any tips/tricks? Thinking of getting into it as Oz is notoriously rich in gold, precious gems etc....

Now you know thats not true Pete. Australia has some of the richest mineral land on Earth including gold. And you should also know that NO-ONE drinks Foster's in Oz - we export all that crap!

Apparently, the bigger your ring the deeper it penetrates. Detectorists with the biggest rings/coils find the most gold. You need to take a look at MineLab Equipment, Bob and also look at the rules of engagement. Severe penalties exist for using your equipment on other peoples registered claims.
