Are we making too many signings too quickly ...

I presume not a serious statement.

Just in case, to reiterate etc:

The transfer market is static at present at all levels and Lincoln are no different to the majority. There are multiple reasons:

a) transfer chains often start in the Premier League, which isn't moving yet;

b) the Euros have naturally held things up at the highest levels as the stars recover and negotiate new deals and/or transfers elsewhere;

c) Brexit has changed employment rules, thereby restricting the ability of clubs below the Premier League to sign players from overseas - such transfers usually assist the flow of players within the EFL, but that dynamic is missing this year;

d) a number of transfer embargoes (eight within the EFL alone) will also impact on movement;

e) financial uncertainty - some clubs have reported serious Covid losses and are reducing their squads in terms of numbers and/or wages; in League One, even Portsmouth and Sunderland have both made budgetary cuts;

f) uncertainty over the return of crowds - will it be at full capacity, restricted, or even none at all;

g) because of the delay at the top level, lower division clubs are also waiting on decisions from bigger clubs on which players they can take on loan;

h) rumoured contract offers from a small number of clubs in League One mean that players and their agents are suddenly holding out for more money;

i) clubs are therefore hanging onto their existing players until they know they can allow them to leave.

Therefore, two good signings in two days (or one day...) is some achievement.

Meanwhile, Liam Scully casually reads the thread, chokes on his mouthful of scone and has to be saved by the Heimlich procedure.

Having finally composed himself - 'FFS, they moan when we don't sign anyone; now they're moaning we're signing them too quickly'.

or is he thinking ‘oh no, they’re onto us.’

I wonder if signings are planned to be announced throughout summer to aid ticket and shirt sales by getting people hyped for the upcoming season?

some imps fans are so negative what do they want are they true fans or are they not used to these good times we have had this last 6 years lol

I am disgusted with whoever leaked our strategy to cherryexile. We will therefore have to cancel all further player announcements until all panic posts on this site end so as to prove we do not make knee jerk decisions.

Don’t stop announcing now, it was just getting exciting. Another panic signing for us to watch at Scunthorpe on Tuesday will go down nicely.

Too many? Too quick? Thought not enough signings were being made and we were worried over lack of activity, well me really.
But now the strategy has been leaked and Cherry has become a Whistle-blower, then it looks like we can expect a deluge of news on those leaving the club. Oh bugger, I think I may just have leaked another strategy, sorry Clive.
