Managerial Changes In League One

Well done to the posters who have posted so far. I hate women's football being brought up on the forum. It is almost impossible to give an opinion on women's football or any sport played by both sexes without being labelled a sexist if you give a negative view. The lady manager at Chelsea Ladies is not helping the cause for equality IMO.

You’re not allowed to say anything these days without some BLM/woke/lefty/Marxist/Guardian reader do-gooder coming round your house and shoving dog turds through your letter box.

I heard someone got arrested the other day for saying MANpower at work. Is this really what Captain Tom died for?

Not sure about the state of play with Bristol Rovers squad but three managers in a season doesn't end too well I suspect (unless their squad is seriously underperforming).

Northampton have themselves in a sticky situation as well because they got promoted playing long ball, Curle started to change things around a little in January and now they're in a halfway house (arguably a similar situation to us last season) where they don't seem good at either style now.

Panic decision by Cobblers. The time to sack him was after we beat them 4-0. Actually thought he had improved them a bit since then.

Remind me again, which team employed the first black manager in the football league? Where were the "Big Six" when that appointment was taking place?

Rochdale: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Collins_(footballer)

Apparently it was Rochdale. Tony Collins, who died on Monday at the age of 94, managed them between 1960 and 1967.

This is an example of a whole history of the game (and society) that gets lost over time. Personally, I think that has more to do with each individual's story being of interest to only a limited number of people - in this case Rochdale supporters and more particularly those over 60 at the moment. Many people are still (at least vaguely) aware of Albert Johanneson (Leeds 60's) and Clyde Best (West Ham 60's & 70's) but most are completely unaware of,

Andrew Watson (Scottish international from 1880's)
John Walker (1st to play in England and Scotland inc. Lincoln 1900)
Walter Tull (pre-WWI player)
Arthur Wharton (pre-WWI player)
Jack Leslie (1st black player called up by England 1925)
Tony Collins (started playing in 1947)
Steve Stacey (Bristol & Wrexham 60's - 74)
Ade Coker (played for Lincoln 1974/5)

Lots of these individuals had mediocre careers (although some had exceptional lives) so it wasn't until the Batson, Anderson, Regis Cunningham and then Barnes and Blisset when there were enough non-white players to register on the national consciousness. For anyone interested I have put some links below,

FFS: Can we just stick to football, because this is the greatest load of bollocks I've heard in a long while. "I heard someone got arrested the other day for saying MANpower at work". Where did you hear that? That's the kind of bollocks that circulates on social media and eventually leads to cretins storming parliaments. If you don't believe me, look over the pond.

And as for Captain Tom... the bloke was 100. It's not like he gave his life in the trenches He didn't die so that you can circulate scurrilous rumours. He didn't die for anything.

Let's just stick to footy.

I think Walter Tull is quite well known, there have been stories nationally about him due to his service in WW1 and playing career. One statue of him (I believe there are others) is in Northampton Guildhall commisioned by the Borough Council.

It's ok tinnion (maineroad will correct me if I'm wrong) I think the poster was being sarcastic and having a dig at those who aren't following the current allowed opinions. They maybe should have used olive.

Youre so right Hully! You’re just not allowed to say anything these days, on multiple social
media platforms, without some lentil-eating vegan transvestite trying to impose their trendy world view on you. It’s like living in Nazi Germany - or Merkel Germany more like it (that one goes down well with the Daily Express readers).

Rule Britannia!

Sexism, Racism and anything to with rights or all this stuff will only be gone when it isn't even mentioned anymore.

Does it matter if somebody is black, white, male, female, transgender, bisexual, homosexual, martian or some other celestial being. Does it matter who the first black manager was the first woman manager? No it doesn't! The media continue to add fuel to the debate and polarise the morons on both sides by making it an issue all the time.

Judge someone by the person they are and the ability they have to do the job not who they sleep with or the colour of their skin or the gender they are. Only when it stops getting mentioned in reports will we know that the problems have been put largely to bed.

Personally I take people as I find them.

Well I never, people sleeping with Martians, whatever next... :censor::censor::censor::censor:
