Yes its the guardian and yes its the usual suspect whose written it but he's not wrong.
Excellent article.

Key point here I think

Remainers struggled to find ways to make technical-sounding issues matter to the public. Among many voters and many politicians, the great benefits of being inside the single market were taken for granted right up until the moment when they vanished.

Just when u think it cant get any worse, the times lays it all out. Thanks to brexit the united kingdom is no more.

All of the poll data strongly suggests the break up of the united kingdom in the next couple of decades. Even a third of the welsh want independence, over half the scots and almost half the northern irish under middle age. We already have a customs boarder INSIDE our own country.

This is not sovereignty whatever spin or bullshittery and is, in fact, a prelude to the disintegration of the UK.

No one voted for that brexit *****.
Sadly this has looked like being Cameron's legacy from the moment he 'led' a pathetic remain campaign.
"Do de do de doo. Right."

May and Johnson have been the final cursed nails in that coffin.

This is why the failure of our political leaders and their desire for power above serving the people is so total. Finding ways to properly explain complex policy decisions is their one and only fooking job, its what we pay them for.

Much like trump tho i think no amount of reality, facts, grass roots campaigns will see brexiteers express regret. I imagine they couldnt even define the terms of when or how brexit could be objectively stated to have failed cos is not rational, just more ideological bullshit being rammed down everyones throats.

It does seem that history will record this as our moment of madness, cursed or self inflicted.

Parallels with forest arent lost on me here, a succession of political managers came and went with no upturn in fortunes. Pig fucking cameron now seems the least worse of the three.

Reading all this Brexit chaos and probable Scottish independence; if they can get Scotsit done quickly all the exporting businesses could move to Scotland hence boosting their economy and making them more viable economically when they join Europe. Little Borisland would have taken back English independence. Problem solved.

Tories hey, you've got to love them. Popey do you have inside info on this from your school?
"Of the million laptops Government ordered for remote learning during lockdown, more than three quarters have come from Computacenter. The total value of the contracts awarded to Computacenter is at least £198 million. Its founder, Sir Philip Hulme, has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to the Conservative Party in recent years and Mr Hulme’s wife has also donated £100,000 as recently as the 2019 Election.
And now it transpires that some of the laptops supplied do not meet the minimum standards set out in the DfE specification and many contain malware.
A school in Bradford which received 90 Geobook 1E laptops via the Computacenter booking system this week found they had been handed devices infected with a malware virus. A letter from the school’s deputy head states: "Upon unboxing and preparing them it was discovered that a number of the laptops are infected with a self-propagating network worm (Gamarue.I). The network worm looks like it contacts Russian servers when active."
An online forum used by school IT experts suggests this is far from an isolated incident - numerous schools have reported the virus to the DfE. Reports suggest laptops have arrived with no sound driver installed, causing access issues for pupils.
And, from what we can see, it appears that the price they’ve charged for some of their devices is almost twice what it should be. The DfE has redacted key pricing documentation from the published contracts, so we are unable to provide a definitive cost per laptop or tablet. However we do know that in September and October last year, the DfE placed three contracts valued at £39.7m with Computacenter. The deal required Computacenter to supply 192,400 devices. This equates to an average cost of £206 per device. But experts have told us they would expect the basic laptops to cost the taxpayer closer to the region of £100 per device.
The Government is yet to publish the contract award for the additional 300,000 laptops it announced 4 days after we launched our latest legal challenge. So we don’t know who the contract has been handed to - or at what cost to the taxpayer. But on the basis of their track record you’ll forgive us if we aren’t optimistic about what will come to light.
The COVID-19 goldrush continues for those fortunate enough to have links to the Conservative Party. Sadly this time it’s the most vulnerable families picking up the pieces, and fighting for the most basic provisions to continue their child’s education."

Week 4 and its gathering steam

Maybe we could do a parallel of the chaos and Woanz Meltdown with charts and graphs and see how much they match

Brexit week 4 Woanz Meltdown week 8

Gives us a 4 week difference to see any latent patterns

I don't know where we get ours from but we've had no problems like that.

We've been asked for how many more we want by the government last week. We have pretty much filled all the requests already, so the problem is we are given a short window to order more and justify more. At some point more parents will come forward needing them, but we can't anticipate that and we can't ask for more without evidence of specific people who need them.

That's tough to manage but nobodies fault.
