'Arry Kane goes down under a clumsy challenge in the Newcastle area and.....the VAR gods deny them a penalty.

What goes around......

Interestingly they are not banging on about the Premier League’s top scorers so far.

Maybe it’s because it is Sterling and Pukki (Norwich) both of whom have 5. Cannot help feeling that if it were Salad or Mane this would be being highlighted a bit more. How inconvenient.

Rags handed another golden chance with Saints down to 10 men, expect rags to run out winners here before the end of the match whenever that will be depending on when the rags score again.

what can they do now once you start down this road of backing up the ref, change it now then matches that have gone before will have been unfairly refffed

All is not well in Paradise it seems looking at how Mane had a meltdown when he was substituted yesterday.

I trust the media will have a field day as they would surely if De Bruyne or Silva etc lost the plot like that pitchside, gibbing off, pointing at the bench, throwing stuff about.

MotD scathing in criticism of VAR over the decisions at West Ham (failing to award a penalty after clear foul on Haller) and to deny Aston Villa an equaliser in injury time when Kevin Friend booked Grealish for diving after he had passed the ball to a teammate who scores. However replays show that Grealsih was fouled twice- a small shove puts him off balance and then he Cahill steps across him and the contact is enough to finish the job.

Both times the replays show that the original decision was an error........but this is just more proof that VAR appear to have been clearly instructed not to overrule.

How long can they hold out? And if Villa get relegated by a single point.......

Already happy to see the back of VAR - and that applies if we lose the title on a disputed offside/penalty etc etc etc. Game comes first.

Disagree - there has been so much positivity around Sterling that if it was actually important after four games then they'd be falling over themselves to write about it. Same with the table, it's only Sept 1st - long way to go. However if he has scored 30 by Xmas then I would expect one or two articles to appear.

Didn't see it but interesting if it happened. Something was made of Aguero/PG when he was substituted recently but that died down pretty quickly.

I see Newcastle scored an equaliser following the ball coming off a Newcastle player's arm to set up the chance. VAR missed it.

Funnily enough, Graham Scott, who was at the VAR controls for our game against Spurs was the ref on the pitch for this one.

PGMOL are a laughing stock.

Yes. Commented on this in the Off Topic General VAR thread. Totally useless.

They also failed with West Ham & Villa yesterday. Comical.....
