You’re right NRD! I hadn’t really noticed that subtlety but it makes a difference. I like the brassy effect too. Having done a bit of singing and put down a few tracks at a studio in Brixton, I’m a great fan of ‘old blue eyes’ and have done a couple of his numbers, My way, Lady is a Tramp, and New York, New York. I did a Children in Need challenge some years ago, I learnt 14 of my favourite songs and put out a challenge that if people sponsored me, they could choose their favourite 3 songs and I would sing the top 3 voted for on the day, ‘live’.
But it was a nice thing to do, especially to get to sing your favourite songs. The funny thing was that my favourite songs were all in my singing range. I WONDER HOW MUCH THAT AFFECTS OUR CHOICES WHEN CONTEMPLATING WHAT ARE OUR FAVOURITES? The songs we sing in the shower or bath are probably our favourites.
