The Jolley revolution

Could be jolleys last stand on Saturday , fraud in the suit , Buckley gonna be wheeled into the cod hot seat Monday morning with his thieving son also on the payroll as assistant ?

We were in a very bad place a few years ago 2000 crowds losing money struggling to keep our heads above water ,locals more interested in the premiership.
Football is a tough old business we know that or have we forgotten this so soon.

They really aren't very bright (or literate), are they?

"Sir Alan will always have a better record than the Cowleys can only dream about."

Buckley's managerial record:
P1126 W425 D396 L305
Win percentage: 37.74
Promotions: 3 (one every 375 games)
EFL Trophies: 1

Cowley's managerial record:
P566 W305 D116 L145
Win percentage: 53.88
Promotions: 4 (one every 141 games)
EFL Trophies: 1

Yes, Cowley is clearly way behind.

Buckley's record at Grimsby alone:
P599 W230 D213 L156
Win percentage: 38.39

Cowley's record at Lincoln alone:
P131 W76 D29 L26
Win percentage: 58.01

Er...Cowley still trailing...

And when we were in that bad place they had no qualms whatsoever about rubbing our noses in it, and I for one haven't forgotten that. So sod the web-footed idiots - it's payback time and long may it continue.

In fact, if Danny is to make his dreams come true and equal 'Sir Alan's' magnificent record, he needs to:

a) delete one of the promotions he has won, reducing his total from 4 to 3;
b) then make absolutely sure he doesn't replace the deleted promotion with another one for the next ten years;
c) win no more than 120 games from his next 560;
d) make sure he doesn't win the EFL Trophy again for the next ten years.

You can't use facts against their impeccable logic Scotimp, that's just not fair! :lol:

I've got to mention this because there has to be balance.

Your stats for Buckley are league games only, Scotimp, for example they don't include his time at Kettering - whilst your stats for Danny are nearly all non league ones.

And Buckley's win % is going to be reduced a fair bit simply because he had a fair few seasons (five or six?) in what is now the Championship.

Our fishy friend will have to eat his own words soon enough, I'm sure, but - honestly - Buckley's record at Grimsby was terrific.

On the plus side, it thereby falsely raised their expectations about their true level, and makes their descent into despair the sweeter for it. Or at least a peevish Imp might think that.

Buckley was their Bill Anderson. For both managers, it was a very different time in football.
He was also the only manager to win at Sincil Bank and do the double over us in the 1987/88 season when we returned to the Football League.

There was no Imps v Cods fixture in in the '87/'88 season. The following season there was a 2-2 Boxing Day draw at Sincil Bank with Big KA getting one of the Cods goals. The return was Easter Monday which the Cods won 1-0 courtesy of a disputed penalty.

I was referring to Alan Buckley who was the manager of Kettering in 1987/88 season when we were in the non league under Colin Murphy. Having led Kettering to 3rd in the league he then moved to Grimsby and signed big KA.

Thank you for recalling that Kettering away game. Like a back up of the memory's septic tank.
