    RIP

What great days they were and such a classy defence. Gerry Summers was great on the ball while Richardson was the hard man. Joe Shaw should have played for England but we all know that's another story. RIP Gerry you've left me with some great memories.

    Out for the season

When Tommy Lawton came to BDBL in 1952, I think it was; my dad who was a pig took me to see him for my first game and I've been a Blade ever since.

    Cycling 2024

Absolutely, my Winter Bike was the only one I would use at this time of the year; none of the fancy lightweight racing bikes until the first race of the season. In fact I swear that all those pre-season training miles on the heavier bike did me the power of good. BTW when talking about Henry...

Yeah I remember Henry Holmes' shop, spent most of my hard earned paper boy cash in that shop. Happy days.

    Ex Ebgland boss Sven

I hope that you're going to be OK in the long term Bulmer. Are the medics going to give you treatment or is it a case of wait and see? I had a similar problem with my prostate but they said at my age (79), it is likely that I will die with it rather than from it. As for the brain tumours in our...

Pancreatic cancer apparently, which explains the terminal prognosis. We've got two brain tumours within 100 yards or our house, really quite scary.

    Another one bites the dust

Strong rumour that Ian Foster has got the Argyle manager's job. He is currently in Saudi as deputy to Steven Gerrard and before that, England's under 19's manager.

    The Positive Thread

After yesterday's great result, just watched two episodes of Sharpe on ITV4. It's 30 years since these were made but great to see Sean Bean again.

That chain ring looks a bit small, but I suppose you can get up most hills without getting off to walk?

    The Positive Thread

Fishing has finished for the year; the boat is out of the water; now its time for a bit of relaxation. Off to Paphos tomorrow.

    The Negative Thread

Yes but how many of these muslim countries are taking in the Palestinians? Egypt, Jordan and Saudi are all supporting them with words but I don't see any of them taking in Palestinian refugees. I spent 15 years living in Saudi and I can tell you there won't be many leaving Gaza for other...

    The Positive Thread

Brilliant day down here in Cornwall, warm and sunny, plenty of people on the beach and I had a good catch of flat fish in my nets. Great feeling today only spoilt by yesterday's result.

Yeah, he was an awesome time trialist. That's how he won the tours.
