It always helps just being able to go round the course with no hold-ups. Those scores seem to be coming down nicely. I had a lesson last week. I hit a few with my 7 iron to start off. The Pro said I had a decent looking swing but too slow. I was carrying on average 105yds with my 7 iron (best...

Watched series two of Game of Thrones yesterday and series one the day before. I'm not particularly grabbed by it but it's also not as bad as I thought it'd be.

Thanks for the insight Villan57 and congrats on what you've achieved. I'll keep going with getting myself fitter for now - I know it's not a race. As long as I stick to being sensible I'm sure my breathing (which is why I've been in and out of hospital for the last 12 months or so) will improve...

Other Clubs News Discussion Thread 2

I always think that with two of our previous managers the money came the wrong way round. I think O'Leary would have done much better had had the money O'Neill had - he did ok at Leeds with the mega bucks they spent at the time. Inversely, O'Neill would have been better without the money. He...

    The Clément Lenglet Thread

I thought his first few games for us were shocking and I dreaded him being on the pitch. Now I think he's half decent and could improve further. One thing for sure is we'd be in a worse place now than if we'd not had him to call on. Whether we should try keeping him requires knowing far more...

I'd be very surprised if we aren't celebrating a Watkins hat-trick today. He's really looked the business and can only see him dominating their defence more as the game goes on.

I imagine shifting my excess 3st will take another minute or two off my times but I can't ever seeing me get down to 26/27mins - and you said that was taking it easy! I'm impressed.

My BMI is 31.1, but getting it down is one of my main aims. Went for a 5k run today, got soaked, saw a naked bloke stood in the middle of the road (no idea, police were present) and although it was tough I managed a time of 30m 45s, which is probably the fastest I've managed in a good 10 years...

These are exactly the sort of things I pin my hopes on. Not too sure how robust the arguments are but they get me through!

    Most underrated Villa Players

Always makes me smile when I have to look up a player that I'll have seen play for us on numerous occasions. I remember the name but even after looking at pictures, not the face! Also, on topic, I always liked Alan Wright. His performances often belied his stature. Also this goal at one of my...

Just finished week 6 of my C25K. Was supposed to run non-stop for 25 minutes but ended up doing 40. Managed 6.11km. Not a great 5k time but it's 5k, ahead of schedule. Really pleased.

My course is also closed today. (apparently 17mm of rain last night) Got some tokens for the local range so going to smack 100 balls in a bit and see if I can get the swing speed up.
