Table Finish Next Season

Absolutely no idea where we'll finish, obviously depends on who we sign, bearing in mind that we're going to sign around 10 players yet. Will quite happily settle for top half, though it's going to be tough. Expect us to get off to a bit of a slow start, particularly as the squad will have only played probably 6/7 pre-season games togeher

Sounds like a Cook pre-season but probably without the ale.

Happy to have a club to support tbh.
As for a finish - don't sreally care as long as it's :-
a. Above the bottom 4
b. Above Bolton

Ha, good luck with your second part of that Hampton and also to be fair the first part as well. I think you bottomed out last season, so hopefully you can get behind your new management and have a decent season. It’ll be tough bringing in so many players but we showed last year at Wanderers that it can be done if you give the manager time. Looking forward to the six points we get off you towards our successive promotion but wish you well in your other games. Let battle commence then?

Impossible to stay at this stage, the top 6 was so poor last season, so decent recruitment could take any side into the top 6 next season.

The thing about the modern era of League One is all 24 teams tend to have a big clear out and start from scratch each season, so signing a lot of players wont leave us at disadvantage, the bookies favourites Sheff Wed, Sndelrand, Portsmouth and Ipswich have almost no players either!

Someone mentioned we arent competing with the top 6 favourites for players, we have just signed two of the first 11 off one and done a player swap with another!

If we get recruitment spot on no reason why we cant challenge.

Also no one has any money - if you offer any half decent fee to another L1 club it will be hard to turn down. Same with wages as clubs are offering less to new signings and even pay cuts to some out of contract players.

For a owner in L1 if there ever was a year to invest this is the year you'll get the most value for your money. Caldwell bought the league with about 4m of signings - you could probably do the equivalent with about half of that now.

2 years ago Kieffer Moore and Jamal Lowe cost us about 5m combined after good seasons in L1 - a similar target man like Stockley just went for 400k and a similar goal scoring midfielder like Fraser is apparently around 400k too.

It's easy for us to say when it's not our money but if I was our owners and they have the funds I'd say try and invest more now on young exciting talent to take advantage of the low prices. As when fans come back and clubs start making a bit more money if you've recruited well your investment value will probably double or more within a year.
