What a night. Took the chances at last and thoroughly deserved the first leg lead. To a man the lads gave everything, even those who had an off day. Special mention to Bursik who had a blinding debut but Bridcutt was superb and definitely MoM. Off over to the Sunderland chat room now for some light entertainments 😀😀

Tonight's records:

a) Goal number 100! The eleventh time in the club's history:

128: 1951-52
127: 1975-76
114: 1930-31
112: 1931-32, 1987-88
109: 1936-37, 2016-17
103: 1920-21
101: 2020-21
100: 1927-28, 1982-83

b) Tom Hopper becomes the fourth City player to reach double figures for the season, the first time that has happened since 1987-88:

17: Jorge Grant, Anthony Scully
13: Brennan Johnson
10: Tom Hopper
9: Lewis Montsma

c) It is also Hopper’s best season in front of goal, surpassing the 9 goals he scored for Scunthorpe in 2017-18.

Is there a reason bursik has had 4 clubs this year? Was each loan specifically short term?

We've seen the best and the average from Palmer this year, showing that it's hard to sustain form over a season - especially from a loan gk.
