Democracy in the UK...

Even odder considering we have, manifestly and demonstrably, the least exceptional government in Europe.

More Brexity goodness.

Ignore the click-bait headline. It's a bit more serious than that.

It sure is

haulage bosses taking part in a round table discussion organised by Labour rejected government claims that the difficulties they face are simply “teething problems” in the post-Brexit system.

Haulier John Esler said his company was being “hammered” by the additional bureaucracy, with a 40 per cent drop in income while the cost of doing business has increased.
“We need easements and we need ongoing financial support and I don’t believe we are getting any support from our government,” said Mr Esler.

As always, "F**k the Irish..." appears to be government policy...

And Boris Johnson clearly wasn't kidding when he said "fuck business". He really has - about the only promise he's ever kept.

Say "cheese!". :grinning:

“What has only become clear in the last week is that our successful B2C [business to consumer] online sales to EU consumers is now impossible to operate,” he said.

To save his business he will now have to switch a £1m investment he was planning to make in a new distribution centre in Macclesfield to the EU, with the loss of 20 jobs and tax revenue to the UK.

Our factory is waiting for components from Romania. They've been in port at Hull, waiting clearance since January 6th!!

So, hilariously, the EU will now become the preferred location for many British SMEs that export there.

Now, that's what I call "taking back control". 🤣

Hilariously, it now appears Johnson wants to "save the union". Given that he took the UK out if the EU and completely ignored Scotland, what possible objection can he have about Scotland leaving the UK?

Funny how the Conservative and Unionist Party (to give them their full name) will be the party to destroy the Union.
