How on earth do they manage to find such talent and develop them so soon? Barnes, Fofana to add to Justin....

We on about Leicester? It's the youth route at lower league clubs, they don't have the money to store players in their U23s - by the time they are 18 a decision is pretty much taken on whether they can cope and develop in the first team. Those that can get snapped up after a decent season and the likes of Justin, Chilwell, Harvey Barnes etc get managed properly and rise to the top.

Barnes loan spell at WBA made him, same as Jack's did at Notts County.

I wish I could remember who said it but someone was saying as a young manager you have little to draw from. I remember it was specifically addressing OGS chopping and changing his team trying to find a result. The comment came after losing points to Palace.

Whoever it was said "you look at Hodgson when he's going through a bad run theres no panic. You might lose 3 games but change nothing. You know sometimes these runs just happen but if nothing is fundamentally changing on the pitch then you know results will come".

I think that's a good thing about Dean and why this 'young and hungry' manager thing bollocks. Dean's fairly young but he has massive experience. I feel like young and hungry managers get worn out much quicker too. They take on these big jobs, feel immense pressure and then fuck off to a mickey mouse league or smaller team or just generally lesser pressure jobs for a few years. Liverpool was probably a tiny bit too sooner for Rodgers. Andre Villas-Boas, first time I heard of him in 5 years was because we're in for one of his players.

Klopp for all his moaning doesnt change his team very often and I am glad Deano doesnt either.

OGS is the first manager that comes to mind when I think of tinkering. I seem to remember a Cardiff game where a player had played in three different positions in the first half, or something crazy. Imagine you work all week on a game plan, you’re at the team hotel the evening before the game being told the tactics, formation etc - then 20 minutes in you go one down and the manager changes it immediately? It doesn’t make sense, if you have confidence in the game plan. I do think OGS for all his criticism -and I don’t believe he is the right man for United long term - has calmed down a lot.

Yes he is , if he was still at Luton now we'd be in with a chance but not at the time

I did a search on his name to see when he was first mentioned on here (well by me at least), and the posts took me back to when we seemed to bid during the playoff campaign so he had to choose between guaranteed premiership or us who were potentially prem or championship. I would hope now that we would just about come out in favour versus Leicester in the race to sign a quality player.

I hope some of our fringe players look at that and try and improve on their game just as much, Imagine if Trezeguet actually scored those sitters, amazing player for getting into great positions but definitely needs to work on his numbers.

Good interview he did with Sky. A rare breed it would seem . A footballer with something interesting to say.

Win a freekick on the edge of the box... oh no looks like one of the players has gone down with a suspected concussion. Better bring on a sub. Oh they appear to be a freekick specialist. Oh wow they’ve just scored. How funny. I bet nobody thought that might happen....

Concussion would have to be diagnosed by an independent clinician, and not a club doctor for me to accept that this isn't open to clear and obvious abuse.
Doctors will do the professional thing, yes they will get pressured but a doctor is a doctor first and foremost.

I think a player with concussion misses the next game anyway?

Concussion is not black and white in terms of rapid diagnosis, a doctor would have to make a very quick assessment that uses their judgement in a greyer area of certainty. In those moments there is scope for a doctor to be influenced by other factors including who they are being remunerated by.

I work with lots of doctors across the UK/ world and have experience of this in different scenarios. I agree most of the time their ethics and professionalism will ensure that they only consider clinical needs, but there will be moments, hopefull rare, when other factors creep in.

If I was a doctor employed by a football club I would avoid anywhere that Moanio was managing at the time!

I can't see a club cheating if they know a player will miss the next game. faking a head injury to get an extra sub on, I don't think will happen and if they have to miss the next game or two. Me being a cynical bar stool yes it would happen if there are no further follow up
