Covid 19

I don't support any political party so am definitely not interested in political posts, just like to see fair assessment.
Any information is available to anybody under the freedom of information act, the exception to that is of course anything covered by the official secrets act or data privacy laws.

The best description of the political system I have seen. Nobody donates large sums of money without expecting something in return.
Spot on.
The Tories are sponsored by business
The Labour Party are sponsored by the trade union movement.
Both sponsors have the choice so therefore expect their interests to be given priority.
Under Corbyn, they tried to make it more membership driven but the wheels came off on that due to an influx of communists and militants who had always been on the periphery.
They are more interested in identity politics than actually gaining power and enabling change.
When you go so far to the left , then anyone who isn’t like you is either right or far right.
I’ve actually heard Blair being described as far right wing.
Back to the point, both business and the unions expect favours.

Which is not unreasonable if they are UK businesses. It becomes a bit more of a concern when the large donors are overseas. I don't really care if they are Russian, Chinese or from planet Zog. Any overseas "sponsorship" of our political process is to be questioned.

You do have to question why you want to have close contact to a senior politician (now PM) unless you wanted to ask something. May be purely innocent BUT why allow the speculation ( answer - they donate well).

has any attempt been made to cover up this payment "No" why aren't the labour party kicking up a massive fuss about the payment, better to just muddy the waters with insinuation, rather than let the facts show there is nothing elicit going on.

Sounds like racism against the Russian people to me.

The infection peaks you mention have little, or nothing to do with religion. There is no evidence of infection being caused by mosques, or prayer. Most of the infection is going on inside homes and at places of work.

Yep, it's the same as grooming gangs, they "just happen to be" 🙄

It isn't just Muslims that live in crowded homes and have blue collar jobs is it?. But the local spikes are solely in Muslim areas. That must be due to not adhering to social distancing rules, otherwise the spikes wouldn't be so specifically in the 5% community.

I agree mate.
At least with Labour, we know where the money is coming from.
The Tories are forthcoming in declaring the information but the motive should be questioned.

Pubs may have to all close again if schools are to all reopen as schools are national priority and going to the pub isnt!

It was raised at the time but as both sides are guilty of it they dont like to rock the boat. Far more interference from the USA and Israel but as was said its irrelevant as no interference (donations, etc) should be tolerated.
Check out the donations made to large numbers of ‘friends of Israel’ MPs from both parties and donations from US thinktanks to MPs and political organisations.
Dare anyone give an interview on RT though then all hell breaks loose lol.

They are not solely in muslim areas, pay attention. No one denies that some areas with large muslim populations are seeing raised infection rates. Jobs do make a difference because some are having more contacts day to day, taxi drivers for instance. It appears to centre on houses where extended families live. It's impossible to socially distance in such households.

Read what Andy Burnham has been saying, he's quite clear about the nature of the outbreak. Nowhere in the koran does it say that you must infect others, no religion is causing the spread of covid. It seeks out areas and situations where it can spread and in doing so lays bare facts about our society and how it is organised.

What little genuine information there is on the comparative rates of previous infection by ethnicity suggests that black people are out in front. Here is the latest press release from the current biobank study:

https://www.ukbiobank.ac.uk/2020/07...of-previous-covid-19-infection-across-the-uk/

It's entirely impartial and they state the limitations and their methodology. It's worth reading the full report whatever your views on the overall situation.

Last night large groups of Muslims were fighting in Shoreditch , blocking main roads.
The night before in Romford, Muslims 'celebrating the beginning of Eid' put a policeman in hospital , after attacking officers who went to the incident came under attack.

I listened to Andy Burnham on LBC this morning with David Lammy.
To say he was walking on eggshells is an understatement.
He knows that the Asian community is driving the surge but couldn’t quite bring himself to say so.
Ever the politician.
It does appear to be driven by the youngsters going out and about and infecting mum and dad and granny and grandad, because many live in the same household.
Lammy was trying to link it to deprivation but Burnham said that the data was the same in the well off areas.
It’s really quite fascinating and will satisfy stattos for years to come.

Are you putting Tommy up? Where is he?

you're so political in all your posts, the figures for local infections have to be reported nationally but are collected locally. Medway Hospital reports figures to those who ask, if local council don't ask then who's fault is it?
No don't answer you'll only blame Boris.
Omg Nitram. Jogills' post was superb (imo). I fear for demoracy when people are as blinkered as you.

Just to show I'm not totally biased I'll ask do you think Thatcher would have dealt with it like this? Much though I hated her politics I'm certain she wouldn't have f#cked it up like this.

Of course it is political, all the way through. The rot set in right from the start with Johnson's irresponsible libertarian behaviour and decision making. Thatcher wouldn't have worried about bing popular unlike populist Johnson.

Yes, and Johnson has just recommended one of his Russian mates should go into the House of Lords. Baghdad thinks I'm a conspiray theory nutter fior imagining favours will be dished out but overnight we see an example of what I warned about.

You're showing your true colours 58, you believe in the autocratic Russian style of socialism, the Chinese have a similar system. I prefer the freedoms we enjoy in this country, go to Russia and see how your criticism of the government would go down there.

???? I was saying what Thatcher would do. Didn't think she was a Commie. Laissez faire free for all under bumbling Johnson. Shambles. Thatcher must be turning in her grave.

Anyone else thinking pubs might close once the summer is over ?

SD much harder to manage indoors. I think pubs might be a summer activity all the time Covid is with us ?
