Similar with engineers and "software engineers"I'm an architect and despite the title being legally protected in the UK, the IT industry has universally adopted the term 'architect' as used by our transatlantic cousins.
Wading through job sites is now a nightmare, sorting 'proper' architects' jobs from 'data architects', 'solutions architects' and all sorts of other variations. If there's a salary quoted it helps as we 'proper' architects aren't paid as much.
