Football During Coronavirus Crisis

Where does that leave football integrity? Wigan lose 12 points and get relegated due to Covid 19 and not performances.

Assume that other clubs are able to choose when to go into admin so they can 'manage' their 12 point loss to most advantage? Hang on til the end of this season and then announce admin, sort out the finances and choose a time when maybe a few others go into admin too and have a mini league of -12 points clubs at the base of the championship so they minimise the impact of -12 points.
Just a cynical thought but what a mess!

Cynical thought 2: there will be lots of reasonable players available at cheap prices for next season...maybe some good ones too! And no FFP to worry about.

we could have 12 points start on all the championship next season

Well, what a surprise.

The 5-sub rule is set to become permanent for next season as the IFAB are expected to extend the change over ongoing concern for player welfare because of the late start to next season.

Just fuck the fuck off.

They'll be making this drinks break nonsense a rule as well. Just seen them doing it at Brighton where it's pissing down and around 15°. What a farce.

Will that mean I will have to talk to @Melon Donkey at the drinks breaks as well then ? :shake:

I imagine is what you're thinking. I quite like Melon.

It's tasty.

Fans may be back in stadia by the end of the month...

Paywalled, but these are the key points of the article.

"The Premier League is increasingly confident it can introduce a digital health passport system to allow fans back into stadiums.

It is hoped that a test event might be staged in August, or even towards the end of July, to see whether a system is viable of using testing and antibody data so that fans could have their own individual health passport to ensure they are not carrying the virus.

The return of fans will be gradual, and limited, although original fears that games will have to be played behind closed doors until the beginning of next year have been allayed. There is now growing optimism that a number of fans may be allowed in by the end of September or into October."

Be interesting to see how they decide on which fans can come back in first. Probably base it on how much you abuse the referee at games. Awkward.
