Vital Champions League
Election report.
Absolutely scathing.
Not quite sure what to say after reading it.
There’s clearly a lot of work to do.
It appears that they are writing off 2024 already and just hoping to make some gains.

Sir K must be praying that Johnson is still in post by then.

I note that flipping Corbyn is at it again. ....

BBC says he`s now facing two charges of breaching lockdown rules after allegedly participating in conspiracy theorist demonstrations blaming coronavirus on the 5G network. The 73 year old was first arrested on May 16 during a demonstration at Hyde Park Corner involving 50 people.

Have you got a link to it?

Only, if it is what I heard summarised yesterday, it still fails to recognise how many seats (historic ones, held by Labour for decades) were lost due to the policy of a second Brexit referendum, defying the will of the majority of the electorate. The main difference from 2017.

With Starmer and Thornberry still in situ, I doubt that was mentioned in this supposedly independent report so it does not suggest a sudden change of thinking. The words head and sand come to mind.

Just google Labour Together.
It’s quite lengthy but interesting to Labour voters.
Yes, it is scathing on their official Brexit stance.
While the members were generally against Brexit, the average Labour voter nationally was in favour.
The party misread this even though all the signs were there. The northern Mps were telling them.
A quarter of all Labour Mps now come from London because of their misjudgment.
The two issues for Labour voters was Corbyn and Brexit

It’s also judgemental about the leadership and the bubble that they enclosed themselves in.

Read it and form your own conclusions.

Mainly brexit miscalculation plus the zionist/media plot against labour and Corbyn.
The move towards identity fascism will not bode well.

Labour together report.
On google

Yup, read it eventually.

Very repetitive but a good summary.
Long way to go as the same issues are there at present.

They talked about the division and mixed messages but the new leadership were the culprits by backstabbing and moving labour to a remain agenda.
The other culprits are a) the blairites that aimed to loose the election as long as Corbyn went and b) those in the pay of the zionists undermining the election.
The first thing we hear from the new leadership is around supporting a trans (child abuse) bill. At least they are not mentioning remain now.

Overall though a good review and direction based on economics and community. The identity fascists direction would mean I would never vote for them.

Sad thing is that everything in the election was predictable and they have not fully owned up to the fact that their stance of opposing Corbyn and backing remain or a second referendum on Brexit killed off any chance of election.

Thatcher killed the uk manufacturing and local communities both the backbone of the movement.
Blair did not try to mend the problems in the ex industrialised communities.
Spineless labour did not stand up for themselves re the financial crash.
Spineless labour did not defend themselves on racism
Country votes for brexit and then again in the EU and labour do not stand for the democratic vote
Hopefully this review will see an improvement in policy and rebuild the party as a community and peoples party.

The most hopeful sign is that so far it has not provoked a bitter war of argument and identity. Some of it relates to factors that affect voting intentions generally and no party owns votes in the way they once did. It always was the case that political parties were vehicles rather than gatherings of the faithful but it's much more true now. If individuals and internal groups got hold of that concept properly they might develop a strategy for regaining power.

Predictions for 2024 are for the birds in politics, economics, the planet, everything.

That’s pretty much as I saw it as well.
The stance of “if you’re not with us, you are a facist “ has got to change if we want to have any chance of regaining power.

It does seem as if some are content to be the righteous opposition rather than compromise their beliefs.

The point that there is a possibility that they may be wrong doesn’t seem to even enter their head.

With the Brexit party walking the EU election, the writing was on the wall but many in Labour refused to even look at the wall.
Where did they think the Brexit party got the votes from?
Farage said at the time that they were picking up a serious amount of votes from Labour strongholds and he was laughed at.
Cummings obviously took notice and planned accordingly.

Labour is now mainly a City party.
A quarter of their MPs are from London alone.
Unless they can re attract the working masses, they have an uphill struggle.

Fortunately, this current shower are there for the picking, but as jogills says, there is a long way to go.

Will be interesting in July when the bill on trans kids and self identity is up for amendment, will labour jump to join the identity fascists from the party?

Already they have shot themselves in the foot in trying to be more bame than the tories (patel not black enough). It was like a monty python sketch.

Will they carry on looking like a remain only party still or start moving back to community and economics?

I think that things will have to change.
Put the far left (Militant)back in their box for a start.
Their views are as far away from the average labour voter as can be.
If that’s their political views, fine.
Go and start a new party and convince people.
Only by treading the middle ground can they win over middle ground voters, which they need to win power.
500,000 members looks good on paper but will win you nothing.

Why not just let the world all try and get on with each other, all this spoiling stuff is madness, it will not help anyone, there are probably major problems with every party.
As fo black lives matter how can anyone argue against anything they are protesting against, the police in America and in some cases Europe are prejudice against them.
I think the major problem in this world is terror related

Jerry, I agree with most of what you say, but surely you must accept that the unions, with their constant striking, were the masters of the downfall of a lot of our industry. We were not called "the sick man of Europe" for nothing.
