Coronavirus

The sense of entitlement in this country is beyond belief. The headlines in many of today's papers centre around the chances of us Brits being able to take foreign summer holidays after all.

"Lifeline for summer hols abroad"

"Don't forget your toothbrush! Brits' summer hols joy!"

"SAVE OUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS"

Boris Johnson has told ministers to "keep alive hopes" of breaks abroad amid a "backlash over his quarantine plan."

A Downing Street source tells the paper: "We will be guided by the science" before adding "but the PM does not want to be standing in the way of people's holidays unnecessarily."

FFS :arrghh:

People STILL don't get the gravity of the situation. Still don't get that an island nation - perfectly placed to lockdown properly - has totally failed at pretty much every step and we are still seeing deaths in the hundreds.

MPs have turned out (and queued for a very long time) to vote in person on whether they should, er, continue to vote in person - Rees-Mogg wants the virtual parliament to end and for MPs to be obliged to attend Westminster if they plan to vote on various motions and legislation.

And despite all the moaning and groaning at having to queue up 2 metres apart and all the other social distancing measures, they voted with the government and Rees-Mogg!! You couldn't make it up.

Here's MP Steven Baker (who voted with the government) after the vote :slap:

Yeah, but you are entitled to your summer holidays, innit?

People worrying about holidays and Rees-Mogg being the dickhead that he is, they should listen to the stats really.

Just watching the end of newsnight. Now as they point out, some countries will have under reported however:

Worldwide 375 000 deaths.

UK 50 000

That makes us 13% of the total. We are just 2% of the world's population.
