Match Thread: Lincoln City v Rotherham United

Rotherham will come at us tonight which will work in our favour as we have struggled to break down ultra defensive opponents but those that leave a few gaps because they want three points we've done better against.
Could be a decent game. First goal tonight will be key

👍👏 3:45am for me. Be interesting to see what team MA puts out & how they get on against the league leaders. Hope they turn in a good performance. UTI 👏
Perfect kick off time for me 6.45am, much better than the usual 2.00am Sunday morning. Tough game for the Imps but if we show a bit of fight anything can happen. Hoping to see Bridcutt and Scully getting involved.

Yelllow card counts:

9: Morrell
6: Bolger
4: Eardley
3: Hesketh, Shackell
2: Bostwick, Bridcutt, Coventry, Hopper
1: Anderson, Chapman, Grant, John-Jules, Melbourne, Payne, Pett, Vickers
0: Andrew, Edun, Elbouzedi, Eyoma, Frecklington, Hinds, Lewis, Scully

Cut-off for ten yellows (a two-match ban) is the 37th league game, currently scheduled to be the home game against Coventry on 21 March. That is seven games, meaning that only Morrell, Bolger, Eardley, Hesketh and Shackell can now pick up a suspension.

Harry Anderson currently has 7 goals to his name; one more will give him his best season ever.

2016-17: 6
2017-18: 7
2018-19: 7
2019-20: 7

His total of 27 goals for the club puts him second in the current squad behind Lee Frecklington (30).

That may not sound like a large number, but only 72 players in the club's history have scored more.

He has one more than Tony Battersby got in his four seasons, for example...

first goal is certainly the key for us.

Wonder what the odds on Hesketh getting 7 yellows in 7 games ! Odds on Morrell getting to 10 tonight?

And Battersby was meant to be a striker

I'd kind like us to go 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 to give the advantage in midfield (they'll go 4-4-2), but not sure who the lone striker would be so I'm still seeing 4-4-2 with Bridcutt coming into midfield and Anderson starting compared with last week.
Interesting to see if Jack Payne is pushing for a place though?

Or 5-5-0

No defensive cover on the bench? Midfield and attacking options, maybe Paynes been working on his Centre Back skills?

for a bit of balance:
iversen was in goal for oldham last season.
thompson was at bury.
crooks was at northampton.
barlaser, accrington.
ihiekwe, everyone remembers from tranmere in the vanarama.

they are not all world beaters. let's get in there and give them a huge battle. uti.

Really looking forward to seeing Bridcutt. Will allow Morrell to drive forward and gives real bite in the midfield that we’ve lacked big time.
