Promotion or Tories Out?

Isn't it fun making political capital out of two peoples murders? Of course there were loads of other people there too, but presumably if they were only British they don't count for much..................................

Yeah, left me think which party has been condemned by the parents of one of the victims for doing exactly that.

Hmm I'm struggling, do you know which party has been condemned for doing just that?

Look forward to your one word answer :)

Actually free broadband is the worst Labour policy imo.
At the moment the reason the government doesn't have every single piece of data related to you is that the ISPs don't let them have it.
I think we're better off leaving that arrangement in place, given the potential for oppressive government behaviour the internet has.

I would probably go with three words, but one word only allows Labour.

I believe JC was first off the mark, though BJ hasn't done himself any favours on this either

Let's look at some actual numbers from privatisation:

Water: when we sold it the government took on the debt on the agreement that shareholders would use profits going forward. To date they've taken on debt of over 50 billion. Guess who pays that? Yup, the consumer. Your bills are over 25% used to service that debt and yet those same shareholders have in the last decade alone paid themselves over 20 billion in dividens - that's almost the entire profit less 700m.

So just to be clear your bills are substantially higher in order to finance Improvements, maintenance etc. and yet we don't own it, we just watch the profits head off shore to a small number of wealthy investors.

The national grid: guess what, they're doing the same. Paying out the vast majority of profit as dividens and passing the cost of running and improving the network onto the consumer. Still at least competition has driven prices down you say. No sir, I'm afraid not, not only are bills higher but the energy companies have been found guilty of fraudulently overbilling the public to the tune of billions.

Still at least those off shore tax shelters are doing nicely.

British Rail? Let's see: less reliable? Check. Far far more expensive? Check (described by one Tory chancellor as a rich man's toy).

But the real kicker? We subsidise them far more than we ever did when they were nationalised.

Privatisation cost us 100,000s of jobs (tbh some rationalisation was needed but entire areas were decimated with no meaningful help forthcoming), billions in lost profit and billions extra passed onto the consumer.

Oh, and now we don't even have the assets.

You forgot to add that some of these companies are partially state owned, blood commies, and said companies have to spend a certain percentage of their profits on improving infrastructure in their home countries. So in principle the British customer is financing johnny foreigners infrastructure this whilst the UK government debt increases.

because the Unions were so great for us? I remember as a kid with family members in the car industry...was a nightmare

sadly I will never be a person of wealth, but lets say i was on crazy money...then the tax I pay is a shit load more than people abusing the benefits system to not work

the problem is how do we give the money to the deserving and make sure the undeserving arent milking the system to the detriment of others

Another lie that's been told about all these people cheating the benefit system. It's a very small percentage. Especially compared to tax fraud. Yet the Tories put all their resources in to Benefit fraud.
If it was about looking after those deserving then it wouldn't be about these stupid unfair work capability assessments. That're designed to fail you & make you feel like a fraud so it put's some off from even applying. When it should be about medical history & evidence.

And because it isn't a fair system disabled people are living in fear every morning from getting a brown envelope.

I don't know how many times I have to say this; I don't and won't be voting conservative. However, due to the Labour Party being infested with Momentum nut jobs, I won't be voting for them either.

In my opinion, Homelessness is largely caused by the lack of funding in social care and health. Foodbanks are a product of 10 years of austerity.

Ill say it one last time, I am not a tory.

Im also not so naive to think the left wings manifesto will work

Sorry I keep forgetting. Maybe I just read your posts & you sound like a Tory. Because you certainly don't sound like a green voter

What because I don't like the sound of Corbyns masterplan? You're a typical hard left fanboy. Anyone that doesnt agree with your thoughts is a right wing nutter.

As I have said (again) I am not a tory and won't be voting Labour. I will be using my vote, because people die for that privilege and so I won't ever disrespect that power. I will be casting my vote in the Green box.

I am getting bored of saying this to you because you clearly don't believe me. I am a life long Labour voter. I voted Labour in every single election for the last 30 years. Thats in council and general. I voted Labour in 2017 with Corbyn at the helm. The last 2 years have been an eye opener for me, and I won't vote for anything that involves Momentum, because frankly they're c*nts that have hijacked the party. Hopefully Corbyn loses and the part will get rid and reform and the members will tell their union secretary to pipe down.

I won't be repeating it, but my guess is you will still continue to think I am a tory, and I actually don't give a shit if you do. Its people like yourself that have driven working class to the right, with your bullshit.

You should know!!!!
Yes I should, if I were a member of ""The Communist party" I would be expelled from the Labour party. And as a social democrat / democratic socialist I agree with that. Presumably there is a similar ruling within the Tory party prohibiting members of that organization from also being members of a Nazi / fascist party?

I respect that. That's your choice. But I'm not hard left at all. I just would like properly funded services like our schools, NHS, social services members of my family work in those service's. And they're really struggling to carry out their jobs. And I just don't get that people are willing for the Tories to continue with their ideology policies.

Momentum was formed to combat the right wing media lies. I am a member & if I thought they were doing things hard left I would stop my subscription. But obviously socialist are angry the way the media have spread lies.

A few years ago I had a decent job, working all the hours I could. Then one day out of the blue I got ill & was diagnosed with numerous of illnesses. Anyway I lost my job because of my health. I'm now disabled & rely on my family to take care of me. I'm very lucky I have that support. I was also supported by the govt. But if I'd gotten ill now under the Tories a lot of that support as gone.

The media & the tories sold the lie regarding Labour causing the crash. They also told everyone that a lot of people claiming benefits were cheating the system. In fact the DWP own figures which show that benefit fraud accounts for just 0.7 per cent of the welfare budget.

Every day I beat myself up because I can't work. On the days I'm able to leave my house I'm scared to go out because I'm afraid of people judging me. Disabled people have been attacked in the streets. This is down to the media that has supported this nasty Tory govt.

What is so hard left about that?

Sorry about ranting but I'm not hard left.

What is hard left though except a media construct lapped up by the poorly educated. Yes there are probably a few left wing authoritarians, but generally the left is humanitarian in outlook while the right is largely authoritarian.

Issues like properly funding the NHS, fair treatment for all and battling poverty are typical concerns of the left. There is nothing hard about that.
