Summer transfer rumours thread

Football Insider - Spurs are looking to get £5m for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Double what he's worth I reckon.

7 regular starters are attracting interest already this Summer and we can expect bids for: (source: enh)

  • James
  • Grimes
  • Roberts
  • McBurnie
  • Rodon
  • Routledge
  • Van Der Hoorn

It’s going to be a big summer for us. The priority will be to get rid of the high earners still on the books, and if successful hold on to the youngsters who are the future of the club.
I understand Bony has a year extension option on his contract. Do both sides have to agree to trigger it? I hope so otherwise we could be stuck with him for another year if we can’t move him on. His massive wage drain has already cost us a chance of promotion this season.

You'd hope so Keith, can't have him still on the books!

Swansea midfielder Matt Grimes is keen to join Everton in the summer, according to reports, after the Toffees made an official approach.
Grimes has supposedly not only been identified as a player with great potential, but as someone who is capable of making the jump up to the Premier League.
Swansea are thought to value the 23 year old around the £10million mark after he became a leading player in their side last season following relegation and was named the club’s Player of the Season, ahead of Manchester United target Daniel James.
Speedy winger James is still thought to be a target of Everton too, and club chiefs are hopeful of completing a double swoop on the Welsh outfit as talks between the Jacks and the Red Devils have not been finalised yet.
James would cost more than his teammate though, with United hoping a deal can be reached for a fee of between £15-20million, including add-ons.

Swansea City boss Graham Potter was spotted at Fratton Park on Thursday night watching the League One promotion play off semi final between Portsmouth and Sunderland.
Reports claim Potter was there to scout potential transfer targets, one of which was Sunderland’s versatile defender Tom Flanagan.
They claim that the Swans had interest in Flanagan back in January and Potter was likely at the game to see the defender in action, as well as to assess Portsmouth centre back Matt Clarke.

Possible signings as above post. Are they cheaper options than our now returned to Spurs loanee Carter-Vickers, who is supposedly available for £5 mill.

Matt Clarke, 22 years old, 6’1” centre back. Started his career at Ipswich, where he made 4 Championship appearances before going on loan to Portsmouth, eventually signing a 2 year contract on a free transfer in July 2016, extended to 2020.
He made 29 appearances in League 2 with them before making the permanent switch, and a further 33 games there before gaining promotion to League 1, where he played a further 88 games before reaching the promotion play-offs last Thursday, in which Portsmouth lost to Sunderland.
Ipswich are entitled to a 20% sell on fee, if he moves on.

Tom Flanagan, 27 years old, 6’3” centre back. Started off at MK Dons with loan spells at Kettering, Gillingham, Barnet, Stevenage, and Plymouth, before settling at Burton Albion. He played 57 times in the Championship for Burton, the rest of his games were in L1, L2.
Sunderland completed the signing of Flanagan on a free transfer in June 2018, he signed a two-year deal.

I’m told that Manchester United will announce the signing of Daniel James tonight. Solskjaer and Michael Carrick are big fans of him asked the board to sign him as soon as possible #mufc #mufclive

Newly-appointed Brighton manager Graham Potter attempted to hijack the deal but sources close to Potter claim James has decided on #mufc and 'agreed everything' but Swansea are still yet to have accepted a transfer fee #mulive

#mufc will give Daniel James and his family enough time and space before completing his transfer due to the sudden passing of his father. An agreement is in place with Swansea but he will be given as much time as he needs #mulive

McBurnie also heavily linked with a move away as there's plenty interest in humans you'd expect after scoring 23 goals.

Awful news about James' father. Awful for him and his family to go through.

Swans fans are a hardy bunch. Our first team from our PL days has been systematically dismantled and now we find our successful under-23’s of last season are going the same way. We can’t keep a decent manager, kiss the badge then kiss my a—e at the first offer, and now we’re looking in League1 for a replacement. So frustrating but we still turn up no matter what.

Swans are after Plymouth Argyle’s attacking midfielder, 24 year old Portuguese Ruben Lameiras, who is out of contract this month and available on a free transfer. Plymouth have just been relegated from League One, but Lameiras still scored 12 goals in a relegated team.

Sounds like the type of signings we'll be doing, frees but there's good players out there on the cheap if you can get them. This guy looks decent as well.

We are supposedly looking at loaning Chelsea’s 19 year old right back Reece James, who had a very successful loan spell at Wigan last season, and has previously played with Steve Cooper in the England Under- 17’s. Currently injured after going off with an ankle ligaments injury playing for the Under-20’s last week, so could be ruled out for now.

Another player linked is 22 year old Ivorian and League One Peterborough winger Siriki Dembele. He was one of the stand out talents in the EFL last season. Just completed year one of a three year contract so would command a fee.
