EU strategy to destroy the Chequers ‘agreement’...

Fingers crossed that the governement does the honourable thing and allow Scotland a 2nd referendum. After all most that voted to stay in the UK, did so on the basis we were part of the EU.

Yeah, fingers crossed.

If the vote goes their way, Jimmy Krankie can then fund her own free prescriptions and heavily subsidised university places for Scots.

With their low population, they have room for all the unlimited EU labour as well. It is up to them whether they want to offer those workers any benefits.

Not sure what claim they have on any remaining North Sea oil but there is always the Irn Bru factory.

Everybody wins.

That is 1500 so far, and it may mean that I end up with no job. I won't be given the choice to relocate. It is irrelevant what would happen if we stayed in the eu, cos we ain't. I deal in reality, and it is reaity that I, and mt colleagues, are at risk of losing our jobs jusy so the likes of you can wear your union jack shorts, a hanky on your head, laught at Alf Garnett and sing 10 gernan bombers. Rule Brittania

I wasn't given the chance to relocate either. The point I was trying to make was that was in 2012 and had nothing to do with Brexit.

You are not in control of the decisions your employer makes, whether it is to do with Brexit or not. You are not in control of whether they go bankrupt or in to liquidation, for instance. There is no such thing as a job for life these days.

The whole workplace experience has changed beyond recognition in the past few years with advances in IT, cost cutting etc, and if I was young now I would be trying to become as multi skilled as possible. Blaming Brexit is just an easy excuse.

As a matter of fact, besides being a socialist I find the Last Night of the Proms, Royal Jubilees and Weddings, etc, embarrassing and faintly jingositic. As I have stated many times on here, I like the majority of ordinary Europeans and would be happy to stay in a Common Market, but not what has become a heavily bureaucratic Political Union which I believe has been too high a price too pay.

The majority of people will think that groups of 20 men having sex with underage girls is wrong. It's you that is in the minority

Did I miss something? Everything I’ve read from WK seems to indicate that he believes it is very wrong for groups of men engaging in underage sex.

Nobody doubts that but you and VG exclude all other perpetrators of such sexual crimes merely to pursue your racist agendas. So, I repeat that you and VG are just about in a minority of two or three on this forum.

The no deal car crash looks more likely with every passing day. Prepare for more blaming of other parties from remaners and the EU to muslims, the politically correct, Corbyn and not sufficiently nationalistic citizens. The liars are going to get their victory and it will belong to them alone so we can begin to ask them:

Why they banged on about migration from Eastern Europe and from middle eastern countries while conveniently ignoring that the biggest group of migrants was from:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uk...-the-UK-now-come-from-China-figures-show.html

China.

Both China and India have demanded a large increase in visas for their citizens to enter our country as their opening salvo in preliminary talks about trade deals. This won't sit well with the troops, who voted to keep the buggers out so get ready for lots of talk about engaging with the "anglosphere". A strange concept but an old one, which used to go under the more openly nativist title of "kith and kin". That's Australia, NZ and Canada but we have dropped South Africa because some new chaps are in charge.

Forget Brexit now because this is about what sort of country we want to live in. I don't want to live in the fading dream of the old and deluded, who fucked it up in the first place. I'm happy to turn it over to the young to see what they make of it and I wish them well.

There will be no winners, either UK or EU, with no deal. Unfortunately, the ordinary voter can not bang their heads together to avoid it.

As another poster pointed out, the UK wants to show that leaving is right and the EU wants to show that leaving is wrong. That is what is preventing a mutually beneficial agreement.

With liars on both sides, some will claim victory when we finally leave whereas the other side will claim victory with a "told you so" for every bit of bad economical news that follows, whether really due to Brexit or not. The fact that global economy is slowing down, and that includes Germany, should give them ample ammunition.

Don't tell Wayne , he says that it wouldn't happen , and he knows everything.

The EU with its collective strength will do much better than us with no substantive trade deals even near being in place apart from an interim deal with Switzerland.

South Korea won’t roll over our existing trade deal that we enjoy through the EU because they want to renegotiate so they can take advantage of our ‘weakened position’. Thanks brexiteers.

Yet again stating things as fact with no source or even a link to press speculation.

Most recent figures show only a slight trade surplus between the countries (in our favour) but there are quite a few Hyundai and Kia dealerships around so it is difficult to say who would have the "weaker" position, particularly if tariffs were the alternative to a trade deal.

But this isn't a decision based on demographics, skills, technology or a market change that affects a small number of companies. This is a major change in direction for our society and for all businesses within it. This has been forced on those businesses by the referendum result, voted on by emotion and a very heavy dose of racism and intolerance. I have been made redundant before, and, as you say, that's life. This, however, is different, and should the economy go tits up and unemployment rise, well, that is totally on those that voted leave. You say that you are a "leftie", but voted for something that was always going to empower the far right, especially after Farage's "goebellesque" poster, but you decided that the rise of the far right was a lesser evil compared to a political union that broke down barriers and encouraged us to break free of our insularity.

Not missing the point - Hyundai, Daelim, Daewoo, Lucky Goldstar (LG) are massive engineering conglomerates [chaebol] that don’t just make cars and TVs. They build oil refineries and process plants, undertake major civil works, build ships and trains and are aggressive. To date, the EU has kept them at bay but post-Brexit, who knows? The same goes for Japanese giants such as Mitsubishi, IHI and Toyo etc - they employ tens of thousands and need to be kept busy. Again, when the gloves are off, who knows?

There's nothing you can do to stop it.

Corbyn meets the Sinn Fein leader today. Also read that as, Corbyn sticks two fingers up at Mrs May today. Meanwhile 650 MPs bumble and stumble and bullsh!t their way towards Article 50 being reversed at the very last minute. Utter shambles.
