Tony Xia Thread

Interesting. Regarding the FT thing here are some screenshots

I didn’t know (and incorrectly assumed) we’d be part of the Recon Group, so that’s interesting. It may be a good thing that Villa is Xia’s only real baby in the public eye. All his other holdings I assume are small companies (and we are also a small company with revenue of £70m) but without a large loyal fan base.

I’m yet to be convinced of Xia’s wealth, having £180m in your pocket from selling assets and of that amount your willing to invest, isn’t enough.

Yes it’s truly shocking the amount of stories and reports. Surely these were around a while back so how on earth they all appear now is madness.

The latest ‘Spurs to get £40m Grealish for £15m’,
Mostly clickbait and rehashes and then rehashing their own rehashes with new figures for effect. Does my head in. Sports journalism isn't supposed to be code for talk bollocks, invent crap and have no ethics.

Levy is notorious for his hard negotiating. Knowing us we'll probably end up selling Jack for £2.50 and another year of Onomah on loan.
That man - love him or loathe him - certainly knows how to do his job to Spurs' benefit.

I did as well, hence all the inter Recon linking, which is why I shuddered a touch he might not be involved in Recon anymore or we're not and all the rest of it.

I thought Game of Thrones was hard to follow when you went for a piss at the wrong moment!

We were briefly discussed in parliament, Labour Deputy leader Tom Watson seeking govt assurances that Aston Villa be given time by HMRC. The shame of it.

This payment, in reality, has bought us a month. What happens when our scheduled payments, wages and tax liabilities are not met in June? Where does the money come from then?

I cant see the Chinese ruling party suddenly changing their mind, in the middle of a trade war, and Tone is risking possible imprisonment and requisition of his assets if he makes any noise.

This is an authoritarian dictatorship. (Celebrated rebel artist Ai Wei Wei describes Xi Ping and his political cronies as gangsters.) Your money is only your money until you are told other wise.

What beggars belief is the amateurish casino style contracting and transfer dealings. We have not learned have we? Risking it all, all over again, in a high risk fiscal speculation. No corporate strategy or forward planning. Splurging on contracts, without and financial sense in a boom and bust cycle, like putting the house on black, as though being in the premier league is a right.

I don’t understand Tom Watson bringing this up in parliament, I don’t think even the most hardcore Villa fans would ageee the government getting involved in saving football clubs financially is a good idea - where do you draw the line? Is he a Villa fan as we aren’t based in his constituency?

If you haven't heard, the club have announced the 5 year kit deal we signed with Under Armour 22 months ago has been terminated immediately "by mutual agreement"

Maybe I am over exxagerating but something doesn't add up here. There have been rumours of bills not being paid etc... for a few months - this seems very worrying to me.

To terminate a kit supllier 5 weeks from the end of the season, when the new kit is supposed to be being announced, and three years early ???

Something is wrong somewhere.

MELON Donkey rellied

When i first read the story this afternoon my first thought was i bet someone on vital would spin it into a sign of the club being in the crap. Nevermind the dozens of other reasons it could be.

I say now.

Looking back now, my instinct was right. The UA stuff was clearly the prelude to this. Reading the reports tonighg I am hugely worried. He has got 2m from China anx loaned 4m for the next few months. What then ?.

We are literally living hand go mouth, anx one week there will be no handout. Unless a sale materialises, we will be in admin by October.

Can I ask.....

Does anybody STILL think relegation was good for the club ?

Who thought relegation was good?

Under Armour has been explained - they pay us FFS not the other way round.

Xia is a fraud and needs to release the club or sell for £1 or whatever .
Lerner fucked us over again in his final act. Sold to a sheister .
Let's hope we get a good guy to own us and fast or we are history .
